Match reports 1st Dec 2019

Monivea 7-57 Creggs

After a good win against Castlebar 2 weeks ago, Creggs came with a different challenge and from the first play of the game, they exposed our defence on the outside, time and again. The Creggs first centre and full back had too much pace and ran in 5 trys in the 1st half, nearly all identical to each other. Monivea scored a reply through Dylan Wynn and trailed 31-7 at half time. 2nd was better display but Creggs still ran in 4 try's. 25 lads ran out for Monivea, All getting at least a half. Tough day at the office, but hopefully we'll learn a few lessons from this.

Monivea 0-17 Ballinasloe.

A very strong start from our lads was only let down by the inability to turn possession and territory into points. Ballinasloe took a grasp of the game and scored a try after there own period of pressure and took a 5-0 lead into half time. A poor start again crept back into the second half where Ballinasloe took advantage to push to a 12-0 lead. With only 1 sub available for the game due to injuries mainly, fresh legs finished it off for Ballinasloe to win the game 17-0. Very strong defensive shifts put in from Shane Costello and Michael Hynes with the turnover king Eoghan Shanley waiting in the wings to steal the ball back at any Ruck.
