VETTING
It is important that players, and their guardians, feel that their rugby experience is a fun and safe one.
An important step in ensuring this player-centred environment is the selection of appropriate Sports Leaders to work with young people.

WHO SHOULD BE VETTED?
Republic of Ireland – All those involved in ‘relevant work’, that is work or activity that is carried out by a person, a necessary and regular part of which consists mainly of the person having access to, or contact with, children or vulnerable adults.
Vetting can be completed online but can only be processed by the IRFU on completion of the id check and verification by the CWO.
Existing IRFU Sportlomo users can click here to begin vetting process.
Click here if you don't have an IRFU Sportlomo account.
See below for screenshots on what to select in your IRFU sportlomo account. Make sure you have a digital copy of your photo ID and proof of address from within the last 6 months ready before you start.
Select Certification > Upload Credential > Type: Vetting > Credential Name: IRFU Vetting for Regular work with young people.

Once your online application has been completed on RugbyConnect, you will need to print and fill out the NVB1 form. You only need to fill out the Vetting Invitation form. The club CWO will fill out the Identity Document Validation Form.
Please bring the printed and signed hard copy to your CWO for verification, along with the original copies of the photo ID and Proof of Address documents that you have uploaded to RugbyConnect.
On receiving the documentation from the applicant, the CWO will approve the vet and upload the NVB1 form and validator form.
Retention
The IRFU have been instructed that the original vetting documentation needs to be retained for 6 months after it has been processed.
Initially these will be retained by the club in a safe secure manner.
Once the club have a batch they will then be sent to the IRFU.
After CWO approval the next step is for the Connacht Rugby, Spirit of Rugby Officer to submit your vetting application on behalf of the IRFU using the information provided.
When this has been done your credential status will change to 'Pending' and you will receive emails from The National Vetting Bureau similar to below depending on where in the process you are.
Email one is where you are asked to click a link and fill out relevant information.
Email two is when you have submitted the requested information.
Email three is when a decision has been made.
If you do not submit information to The National Vetting Bureau within required timeframe please contact our CWO at monivearfcCWO@gmail.com
You must complete the instructions in Email 1 Sample below to move the process forward and get a decision from The National Vetting Bureau.
